The draft bylaw would set procedures for electronic Local Trust meetings and require at least two in-person meetings each year at locations accessible to the public; after three readings, the Mayne Island Local Trust Committee forwarded it to the Islands Trust secretary for approval by the Executive Committee.[1]
At its Jan. 31 special meeting, the committee amended the draft to require “on island postings in locations accessible to the public and in Local Trust Offices.”[1]
The committee also asked staff to remove Sections 18 through 40 from the draft before giving it first, second and third readings.[1]
The minutes say the draft was based on a bylaw adopted in 2014 and that discussion included making language gender neutral and holding a public meeting for input before adoption.[1]
