The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee gave second and third readings to Bylaws 184 and 189, then voted to forward both to the Islands Trust Executive Committee and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for approval.[1]
Bylaw 189 would amend the official community plan, while Bylaw 184 would amend the land use bylaw; the committee also requested a change to Bylaw 184 to replace references to “square feet” with “floor area.”[1]
Separately, the committee referred the Mayne Island Affordable Housing Society proposal to the Advisory Planning Commission to consider what would constitute an appropriate community amenity.[1]
The committee also asked staff to explore and draft a section 219 covenant for the proposal.[1]
