The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee advanced three bylaws tied to the Mayne Island Housing Society project, voting to send them to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for approval; it also forwarded the proposed official community plan bylaw to the Minister of Municipal Affairs. The votes were 2-1, with Trustee David Maude recorded in opposition.[1]
The committee gave second and third readings to proposed bylaws 181 and 183, and third reading to housing agreement bylaw 182, before approving the referrals.[1]
On a separate housing item, the committee adopted bylaws 189 and 184 for the Flexible Housing Project. The minutes say staff reviewed a report and suggested creating an information sheet for distribution in the spring and posting on Facebook.[1]
The committee also directed bylaw staff to suspend enforcement on outhouses and invited the Bylaw Enforcement Manager to a future meeting. The motion followed a general discussion about their legality and concerns raised over the previous months.[1]
