The plan’s next phase will examine ways to expand flexible housing options, and the committee asked staff to organize a fall 2024 community information meeting about the plan and opportunities for not-for-profit housing.[1]

The minutes say the first phase focused on allowing additional small units on lots without increasing lot coverage, within a maximum overall floor area.[1]

Trustees endorsed the project charter for Phase 2 and the Mayne Island Housing Action Plan.[1]

The minutes note that co-ownership, co-housing and land donation could be topics for a community forum planned for late fall 2024.[1]

The committee also asked staff to report on Wooddale enforcement issues and voted to write to federal and provincial representatives about derelict boats becoming navigation hazards and raising public-safety concerns in Horton Bay.[1]
