The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee adopted Bylaw 193 as amended on July 29, including a correction to the permitted hours for contractor vehicles and equipment. The bylaw says they may operate after 7 a.m. (8 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays) or before 7 p.m.[1]
The committee endorsed a business case for the Mayne Island Housing Options Project (Phase 2) for fiscal year 2026 and directed staff to forward it to relevant committees and Trust Council.[1]
Trustees also asked staff to apply to the second round of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Housing Accelerator Fund using material from the previous application.[1]
The committee added an action to explore opportunities to enhance infrastructure access that would benefit First Nations reserve lands on Mayne Island.[1]
The next regular meeting was rescheduled for October 7, 2024, at the Agricultural Hall on Mayne Island.[1]
