The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee directed staff to connect with Capital Regional District staff about adding rezoning of the district’s Wood Dale Drive property to the housing project. The motion carried at the committee’s November 25 meeting.[1]

Island Planner Narissa Chadwick told the committee a geotechnical study had been done at the Wood Dale site and that a limited area could be built on, but this did not preclude rezoning.[1]

Chadwick said staff were working through a list of implementation options and would bring information back to the next meeting.[1]

The committee also approved two development variance permits and selected Engagement Option No. 2 for Phase 4 community engagement on the draft Islands Trust Policy Statement.[1]
