The Accessibility Committee approved amended text for inclusion in the 2025/26 annual report, for approval by Trust Council and submission to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs.[1]

The committee also discussed the planned accessibility consultant. Director of Planning Services Stefan Cermak said staff expected to begin the request-for-proposal process in May, and agreed to notify the committee when the RFP was posted.[2]

Committee members asked that the consultant have access to Islands Trust documents, including strategic plans and accessibility complaints, to help identify gaps. The minutes record that request as part of the discussion of the accessibility plan update.[1]

The committee asked staff to clarify whether completed website accessibility improvements included changes to support text-to-speech. The minutes say staff would clarify the matter.[1]

The meeting was held electronically on April 21, 2026. The next meeting was scheduled for July 21, 2026.[1]
