The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee directed staff to prepare draft rezoning bylaws for Lot B, while requiring more information and agreements before the bylaws can be adopted.[1]
The committee asked for reports from a hydrogeologist, arborist and hydrologist, along with a scaled site plan and a development plan showing how ecological recommendations had been incorporated.[1]
It also required a Section 219 covenant identifying development locations, water treatment and monitoring requirements, and areas to preserve, as a condition of adopting the bylaws.[1]
A housing agreement related to the use of the lot must also be adopted before the rezoning bylaws, and the committee asked staff to schedule a community information meeting before first reading.[1]
The minutes say draft bylaws would come to the January meeting and that a community information meeting could then be scheduled; the committee also arranged a special meeting for Jan. 18, 2021, to discuss island housing options and the housing policy review.[1]
