The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee asked staff to identify mechanisms to ensure a density increase is not provided without the amenity, as it considered the Mayne Island Housing Society’s rezoning application on May 10, 2021.[1]
The committee also asked staff to obtain a legal opinion clarifying whether the Official Community Plan’s amenity definition includes land, affordable housing or both.[1]
The society’s application materials will be sent to First Nations for early referral, following a separate committee motion.[1]
Planner Narissa Chadwick said requested reports had been received and the housing agreement was with a lawyer, while work on a covenant was ongoing.[1]
The minutes say draft bylaws were anticipated on the June agenda.[1]
